Due to the library reopening in stages, PC and equipment usage is limited. Patrons may schedule up to two 90 minute PC sessions and two 25 minute Equipment Use sessions per day using the links below. After clicking on the SCHEDULE button for the desired appointment type, please read its full description to note all restrictions and limitations. In all cases:
Patrons must agree to abide by all library policies including its computing resources policies and public health and safety protocols: remain 6 feet away from other people, wear a mask, and don’t come if you feel ill. Patrons who refuse to comply with library policies will be asked to leave.
Due to social distancing restrictions, PC and equipment users are highly discouraged from bringing guests.
Please be on time for your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will need to reschedule your appointment.
A printer will be available for use. If you intend to print or copy and do not have a copy card, please bring $1 bills to purchase one and/or add value.
If you intend to send a fax, note that the fax machine only accepts credit and debit cards.
USB drives and earphones will not be available for purchase. If needed, please bring with you.
Browsing the shelves is prohibited. If you wish to check out materials, request an item through the library catalog at catalog.cantonpl.org.
An appointment to utilize any of these: a fax machine, copier, express-PC, and/or printer to perform a quick task. Examples are: checking email, copying, scan to email, scan to thumb-drive, a quick print, or releasing print-outs sent via our remote print service. A 25-minute session.
Free Wi-Fi, internet jacks, electrical outlets, and USB charging outlets are available throughout the building. Internet connections provided by the library are unsecured and unencrypted; use at your own risk. Use of our Wi-Fi implies your acceptance of the Acceptable Use provisions of our Computing Resources Policy when you connect to the cpl network. Access to this wireless network is available from our parking lot until 11pm.
Copiers and Printers
A copy card is necessary for printing and copying. The reusable card costs $1.00 and has 50¢ of credit to start out. You can recharge the card with $1 bills. Prints and copies have the same per-side pricing:
Black&White 8.5x11|14 for 10¢
Color 8.5x11|14 for 50¢
If you need to print while using your laptop or mobile device (within the library, your home, or any other remote location), you should use our wireless printing service. Your print job will stay in the queue until the close of business the day it is sent, waiting for you to release your print request at any of our five high-quality printers.
As noted at the top of this page, PC and Equipment Use is limited and requires an appointment. Copying, scanning, faxing, and printing (including print jobs sent via the WiPrint service), as well as time on a computer, can all be scheduled using the SCHEDULE buttons located near the top of this page.
