This family storytime is for princes and princesses of all ages. Bring your queen or king (mom or dad) to a royal storytime of fanciful fairytales on Saturday, December 4 from 2:00-3:00PM. We will read stories and make a fancy magical craft. Dress in royal regalia and enjoy being noble for a day!
Every year, The New York Times Book Review asks a panel of judges to select ten picture books they consider to be the best children's picture books of the year. All of these books are available here at the Canton Public Library and are listed below.
If you're looking for something silly and short to share with your little one, take a look at the Sandra Boynton items in our collection. The board books are quick little reads: some have silly themes like belly buttons and others are fun stories about animals. If you're looking for children's music that won't drive you crazy, Philadelphia Chickens is my favorite. The songs aren't obnoxious, but they are catchy enough that you'll remember them later if you need to entertain your baby on the go.
Are you looking for some ways to keep your children busy at home as the temperature outside turns colder, and you find yourself inside more? Here are some CDs that feature stories, songs, dances, and movement exercises for children, babies on up. Try a few out and stay active!
Are you looking for an award-winning book so you can complete your Summer Reading log? Don't forget about books that have won the Mitten Award. This award is given yearly to an outstanding children's book that has captured the attention of youth librarians across the state of Michigan.
